What an amazing way to end a busy - but fun - half term!
This afternoon we were lucky enough to be joined by some of the team from the Wild Zoological Park who bought along some of their animals. The children absolutely loved it, especially touching and handling some of them!
We thought about adaptations the animals have made, as this links directly to our Science lessons - evolution and inheritance.
Children had a brilliant day and were wonderfully behaved. It was great to see them applying their curriculum learning!
Some of our Year 6 children were able to meet and interview Heidi, who is a Physiotherapist from Russell's Hall Hospital. They asked her all about her training and the qualifications she needed to do her job; her daily roles and responsibilities and also about her salary. Some of the information they found out was fascinating!
This interview was linked to our Worship on exploring different careers and our growing part of the school's Christian Vision. It was a great opportunity for those involved to actually meet someone from the profession!
PC Kat Andrews visited school today and talked to the children during Collective Worship. The theme was all about Kindness and Behaviour. The children behaved wonderfully and were a credit to the school.
We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Worcestershire County Cricket Club to provide a FREE afterschool club for children in Years 1 & 2. Please see your child's ClassDojo page for details.
Professional Worcestershire CCC Coaches will also be leading sessions for Years 3 to 6 during school time over the course of the half term!
And so, our Christmas celebrations are done. After an amazing performance by Reception, including a family craft session, UKS2 finished off the term with Carols in the Cold!
Yet another fantastic Christmas performance. This time, from the children in Years 1 and 2. They are completing two performances this week and are doing a brilliant job!
Well done to Years 3 & 4 for such a wonderful Christmas Family Worship. It was a lovely service, and great to see so many parents and family in attendance.
Rev Nigel followed the service by visiting the children in Early Years and helping them with their Christingles.
A huge well done to the children who sang so beautifully at the St Mark's Community Carol Service. Sincerest thanks to parents and families who attended the service; a lovely time was had by all.
I am please to announce that, once again, St Mark's are...
THE WINNERS OF THE BRIERLEY HILL MARKET SCHOOL CHOIR COMPETITION! 🎉🥳
A huge well done to all of the children who participated; they were an absolute credit to the school.
Sincerest thanks to Miss Brownsell and Mrs Groucutt for giving up their time to practice and rehearse with the choir.
