At St Mark’s CE Primary School, we believe that children should have a wide range of opportunities to discover new interests, develop talents and build confidence beyond the classroom. Our programme of clubs and experiences is an important part of our commitment to supporting children’s personal development, wellbeing and enjoyment of school life.
Throughout the year, we offer a broad range of after-school clubs for children from Reception to Year 6, ensuring that pupils have opportunities to participate regardless of age or stage of development. Our clubs include choir, keyboard, recorder, dance, football, rounders, art and craft, alongside a range of other activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, physical development and self-expression. The majority of our clubs are provided free of charge, ensuring that all children have access to enriching experiences and opportunities to develop their interests and skills.
We also work in partnership with specialist providers to further enhance our offer. RockSteady provides specialist musical tuition, giving children the opportunity to develop their confidence, creativity and teamwork through learning and performing music together. Ace Coaching supports our sporting provision through specialist coaching expertise and provides structured, timetabled team sport activities every day, every week during the lunchtime period. These sessions are available for all pupils and provide additional opportunities for children to develop physical skills, teamwork, leadership and positive relationships through sport.
Through our clubs, experiences and partnerships, we aim to ensure that every child has opportunities to try something new, develop their strengths and discover passions that will stay with them beyond their time at St Mark’s. These experiences are an important part of helping children to Love, Grow and Succeed Together.
